This one might be the most famous colored-stone engagement ring, and it belongs to none other than Catherine, Princess of Wales. Royal fans will know that Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with Princess Diana's iconic sapphire ring in 2010. The piece was purchased from Garrard and features a 12-carat Sri Lankan sapphire, surrounded by 18 diamonds and set on an 18-carat gold band. The design was inspired by a brooch Prince Albert created for his wife Queen Victoria as a wedding gift.
